E&M Coding

I downloaded several of your amazing papers related to the E/M coding steps. On the "Determine the Final E&M Level sheet, there are a few categories that have 2 different codes for the same level. For example, in ER type, there is an "x" in both 99282 and 99382 for Exp Prob Focused History. These sheets have made me a "super" E&M'er until today when it all fell apart. What is the proper way to assign the code when there are 2 choices in the same level and category? I hope this makes sense. I love your way of working out the codes!

Hi Dori,

Thanks for the feedback. Go with the highest - they documented it give them the most credit they can get.
